A few testimonials...
Julie ...YOU ARE one in a million.... You are so kind and are willing to help us in any way possible...no wonder your heart beats the way it does ..you give a thousand percent to life and teaching ...I am so glad to have connected with you again.
This is Sandy Kaslow Briggs! What a wonderful facebook page and website you have. Your designs are beautiful (as they always were)! I really like the cover photo you have on FB.
I have taken an art class or two locally. I sort of put the brushes away after you moved on to the next step in your career and other things in life took over. Through these classes I’ve thought of you often and felt compelled to contact you and let you know how much I appreciate you as a teacher (very happy you have your FB page!) Your lessons were always so well thought out and prepared, your instruction was clear, sequential and easy to follow. You are a skilled marvelous artist who has the ability to teach. Not all folks who “perform” their art can do teach it. (I think of many musicians who can perform, but can’t teach).
You made those Saturday mornings challenging and fun as well as relaxing. I learned so much!! Thanks you, Thanks you.
Juile, your class has put a spring in my step I haven't had for a long time...thanks again.
Julie, It was such a fun time. You are a great instructor! THANK you.

Julie is an a wonderful teacher and artist! Not everyone who paints has the talent or passion to teach. I have taken many classes and Julie is one of my favorite instructors. Plus the Studio on the lake is such a inspirational place to paint!
Julie is a wonderful teacher and person!!!! I attended painting classes in Stillwater and in her studio. Julie is so knowledgeable and such a great artist herself. She has such a great style and has so much experience in creating beautiful creations using different mediums. Julie is a teacher that people LOVE to have. She is warm, encouraging and makes you to be a better artist!!!! She is such an inspiration to me!!
Julie, just wanted to say: we had such a good time at the painting event last night! Who would have believed that I could actually paint something that actually look like something?!!
Thanks, Julie! I loved the class last week and can't wait for today! the women are so warm... what a fantastic group:)
I learned so much just in one class... what an amazing teacher you are.

Class emphasis on oil painting techniques, acrylic and a combination of Oil/Acrylics along with drawing, composition, (leading the eye through the art), color mixing, the use of value studies/color studies, color theory, materials, and safe handling practices. We also will touch of collage work. We will take it slow and I will work independently with each student. The first part of the class time is instruction in the form of demonstrations, video shares and quick lectures and often includes handouts. I work to create a friendly, non threatening atmosphere where each student progresses at their own pace. The classes will be ongoing with a month by month enrollment. (2-3 weeks monthlyl) In most cases missed classes can be made up. We will go through it all and over time with the addition of the skill set I will offer it is my goal you find YOUR artistic voice and have some fun along the way. My Studio overlooks Forest Lake it’s a wonderful place to find your artistic self.
