Come and paint, observe, sit on the dock or spacious deck with a stunning view, hike, and or just rest and enjoy. Paint inside in the comfort of our central air cooled home or enjoy the outdoors in plein air it's up to you. In the evening we will gather to talk about our days and paintings over a glass of wine.
Echo Retreat overlooks Lake Kabetogama and is surrounded by Voyagers National Park. It is gathering place for painting retreats, fishing groups, families with 5 bedrooms, two living areas (2 fireplaces), a spacious deck, a beautiful north facing studio and 2 bathrooms. We are so excited about this property and lovingly call it" Echo" which is on "Echo Bay" that overlooks "Echo Island" and one of the main sections of the lake. The island is an easy kayak or canoe paddle away. The businesses and private homes stretch across only 8 miles of the southern shore and the rest of the shoreline is occupied by Voyagers National Park. Lake Kabetogama is a glacier carved 26-mile long lake that offers an stunning untouched beauty with over 200 beautiful islands. Located just south of the U.S. – Canadian border, Encompassing 218,000 acres, the property is surrounded by one of the most scenic, geologically unique, and historically rich areas of Minnesota and the National Park system. With over 340 square miles, this watery wonderland is almost exclusively accessible only by boat.
Echo Retreat is a four hour commute from Forest Lake, MN

Cost $50 per night (3 nights x $50) = $150 $25 Classes (2 days x $25) = $50 Total $200 This retreat is offered first to currently registered ongoing students of Lake House Studio and then opened up to past students. Attending the retreat will be considered as June replacement for the ongoing June classes at the lake House (Forest Lake). You would not need to attend the classes in Forest Lake unless you wanted to make time up the you had previously missed.
